After making a couple of cards we realized how long they take because we are wanting to personalize each one. We decided to go into our google sheet and we make a key. We highlighted each kids name to determine how urgent we need to get them a card. We based this off of what they said they struggle with. For example kids that marked depression we would put them down as urgent. We then got started making more cards. We have created a process, so that we can get the cards down as fast as possible, but also make each one personalized. First we write out what we want to say. Then, we pick out the color of their card based off what they put as their favorite color in the google form. Then, I will write their name in cursive on the card, and will write out the note on the inside. Then, Lexi will draw the pictures that we put on it and color them. So, far we have complete about 10 cards. We have also continued to send out remind messages to the people in the group Kindness. Every Friday we send out a quote and a little message. Most times when we send out a message most people like the message and a few have responded.

Figuring out what to doSince our shoe drive project was over we had to start brainstorming ideas for our next project. This time I wanted to focus on helping people in our community and specifically our school. I started to look at projects from that past and the Random Acts of Kindness project caught my attention. Lexi and I decided to do this project because we will be able to help people from our school. What Random Acts of Kindness isLast year Natalie and Haley created this project. Random Acts of Kindness is they would give cards to freshman that were struggling and could benefit from it. To do this they sent out a google form out to the freshman to have them fill out general questions. Then, they would make cards and write a note to them. Then, the note would be delivered to the freshman. Starting the ProjectTo begin we first went down to Mrs. Lightcap our guidance counselor. We wanted to make sure that the freshman class would be the best recipients of the cards. She agreed that the freshman were the best, so she gave us a class list with all of the freshman's names. We then put all of the names into a spreadsheet because once we start getting information on everybody we can keep all of the information in one place. Next we started to make a google form that the freshman would fill out. The questions that we asked that were opened ended were - What are your interests/hobbies? -Do you participate in any extracricuulars and if so which ones? - What is your favorite color? We then had a question that asked what do they struggle with. We made this a multiple choice question where they could select the ones that they think and then we had an other button where they could type anything else. Sending it outFirst we tried to send out the email by ourselves by using the class of 2023 email group. However, we realized that we do not have access to that, so we went down to talk to our principal. He asked us to send it to him and then he would forward it to all of the freshman. We also created a remind group that students could join and we could send out encouraging messages to them every week. The email was finally sent and we got responses right away. We have already made a couple of cards and sent them out. We are going to continue to make them until we run out of kids.
